Receiving blackmails in Dubai? Guidelines for anonymously reporting them explained

You can now report blackmails anonymously in Dubai
Digital Dubai, in the partnership with Al Ameen Service of Dubai Police, launched an awareness campaign in encouraging the public in reporting cybercrimes such as blackmail and extortion. #WeGotYourBack social media campaign introduced Al Ameen Service as a safe and confidential communication channel to citizens and visitors in Dubai. The campaign is aimed at young people, parents, schools, and institutions with the hopes of equipping them with the latest scams and fraud trends and addressing cybercrime issues as well as security and social-related matters. The authorities released a video portraying a simulated phone conversation between an Al Ameen officer and an 18-year-old woman reporting about a man blackmailing her with her photos.The official reassured the woman that the details of the call and her identity would remain confidential. The awareness video ended with a call to action, “Don’t hesitate to report blackmailing.” The video also featured a disclaimer that the phone conversation featured a fictional dialogue that does not represent actual information about its callers and is for awareness purposes only. Aside from reporting them to the authorities, victims of blackmail were also encouraged to not respond to their threats by immediately blocking the blackmailer from social media accounts and changing passwords for emails and other online accounts. The campaign messages are now available in multiple languages such as Urdu, Chinese, Russian, and Tagalog.
