British superstar singer wins all three major awards

  LOS ANGELES – It was a clean sweep for British superstar singer Adele as her album entitled "25" won Album Of The Year while the carrier song "Hello" won the Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 59th Grammys held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Adele beat Beyonce, who was also nominated for the same awards. An emotional Adele was all praises for Beyonce during her acceptance speech. Beyonce was teary-eyed as Adele paid tribute to her. Beyonce's Lemonade album won Best Urban Pop Contemporary Album. Beyonce, meanwhile, gave a showstopping performance during the show by singing Love Drought. At one point, Beyonce sat on a chair that tilted backwards at the end of the elevated part of the stage. Also during the show, Adele was tasked to give a tribute performance for the late George Michael by singing "Fast Love" but when things went awry as she sang, she stopped and demanded that she start all over again. She did better the second time around but obviously felt that she did not give complete justice to the song as her tribute to George Michael. She shed tears at the end of the performance. A technical glitch marred the performance of Metallica and Lady Gaga. The microphone of Metallica's vocalist James Hetfield failed to work as no one in the venue could hear him as he sang. Metallica and Gaga still went on with their performance and Hetfield and Gaga shared one microphone.
