Dh2 Billion Dubai-Al Ain Road now officially open

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has officially opened the Dh2 billion worth of Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project. The Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project reflects Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai’s vision of creating the world’s best infrastructure in the emirate. "It is also part of our broader strategy to transform Dubai into the world’s best place to live, work and visit as well as strengthen our readiness to meet future needs in one of the fastest-growing cities worldwide,” said Sheikh Hamdan in his opening remarks. The Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project covers 17km area from the intersection of Emirates Road to the intersection of Ras Al Khor Road. The project also includes road widening from three to six lanes in each direction, six main interchanges, and the construction of bridges and ramps stretching to 11.5km. The project will cover the improvement of six key junctions along with Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Nad Al Sheba Road, Al Meydan Road, and Ras Al Khor Road. The road project will be able to shorten the 16-minute travel time from the Ras Al Khor Road intersection to the Emirates Road intersection to eight minutes during peak time as well as solve traffic snarls that used to span two kilometres. The Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project will be able to benefit 1.5 million living or working on both sides of the road as well as the 25 universities and colleges in the area. In connection with the Dubai-Al Ain Road improvement Project, several improvement projects in the area are currently underway that will soon serve beneficial for residents in the emirate.
