4 European women jailed in Dubai for forcing teen into prostitution

DUBAI – Four European women have been jailed in Dubai for forcing a teenage girl into prostitution after luring her with a fake job offer. Two of the women have been sentenced to three years in jail, while the other two will serve three months in jail. All of them will be deported from the UAE after serving their sentence. According to police, the case dates back to November 2021 when police received a tip-off about a teenager being forced to work as a prostitute in Dubai. A policeman posed as a client and paid Dh700 to the teenage girl’s female manager at a hotel room in Al Hudaiba. The woman was arrested after she received the money. Police also traced and arrested her female accomplices. During interrogation, the teen victim said she met a woman from her country through social media and was promised a job as a saleswoman for a mall in Dubai. She said that upon arriving in the emirate, she was instead locked up in an apartment where she was forced to work as a prostitute. She said that she sought the help of another woman on social media who paid the first woman money to set her free, but that the second woman later demanded that the teen continue to work as a prostitute to repay the money given to the first woman. Police arrested both women and their two accomplices. ICA/Expat Media
