2 children killed in car crash on way to Sharjah school

  Two Emirati children were killed after their car crashed in Fujairah while on the way to school in Sharjah on Wednesday (June 1), according to authorities. Fujairah Police said the incident happened on Wednesday morning in Fujairah’s Al Seiji area. An investigation into the incident is underway. Emirates National School, in a social media post, identified the victims as Ali Nasser Ali Al Hafri Al Ketbi, a Grade 6 student, and Muhammad Saif Ali Al Hafri Al Ketbi, a Grade 4 student. Ali was 7 while Muhammad was 5. Three other children in the car, the nanny and the driver were injured in the crash and taken to Al Dhaid Hospital. School officials identified the injured as Khalifa Ali Salem Al Zahmi, Alia Nasser Ali Al Hafri Al Ketbi and Moza Nasser Ali Al Hafri Al Ketbi. Khalifa is a Grade 5 student; Alia is a Grade 1 student, and Moza attends kindergarten in the same school. “The family of Emirates National Schools extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, praying to Almighty God to inspire their families and relatives patience and solace,” according to the school, which also wished for the speedy recovery of its injured students.
