Floyd Mayweather's May 14 exhibition fight in Dubai cancelled

Highly anticipated exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and Don Moore has been cancelled following the death of the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. The exhibition fight is part of The Global Titan Fight Series that was scheduled to be held on Burj Al Arab hotel’s famous helipad in Dubai this Saturday (May 14). The showcase tickets cost £150,000 or around Dh670,000 each, making the event exclusive for only 20 live spectators. The boxing legend and former five-weight champion was supposed to face the “Dangerous” Don Moore who had 19 undefeated professional fights but no world titles in his career. The event was cancelled after the UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs’ announcement three-day work suspension and a 40-day mourning period on Friday (May 13). The Mayweather vs Moore fight card will supposedly feature an exhibition bout between Anderson Silva and Bruno Machado and a faceoff between Badou Jack and Hany Atiyo. As of the writing, the date of the rescheduled fight is yet to be determined. KSO/Expat Media
