Expect another long UAE public holiday in July

The next long public holiday in the UAE is coming in July, with Arafat Day followed by Eid Al Adha. Arafat Day is expected to fall on Friday, July 8, which could mean that the Eid Al Adha weekend starts on Saturday, July 9, and will last until Tuesday, July 12. Eid Al Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is an important Muslim holiday that honours the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son. Islamic New Year will follow on July 30, which falls on a Saturday, but it is not expected to be declared a public holiday. ICA/Expat Media
