Healthcare charity Al Jalila Foundation accepts crypto donations

Al Jalila Foundation makes history as the first healthcare charity in the UAE to be approved to accept donations in digital money such as cryptocurrency. The foundation is a nonprofit healthcare organization and a member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. Al Jalila Foundation has partnered with a leading cryptocurrency platform as an expansion of its donations channels, networks, and capabilities in accordance with Dubai’s leading technology and digital vision. Dr. Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation acknowledged the role of the donations in making the organization successful and hoped for the newest channel to serve as a convenience for the global donors and a win-win situation for both parties. “We are proud to be the first healthcare charity in the UAE to accept donations in cryptocurrencies bridging the gap between physical and digital currency," he said. Crypto philanthropy is seen as the fastest donation method for Millenials and Gen-Z donors as well as served as an essential and sustainable source of fundraising for charities since 2021.
