Severe UAE weather warning as heavy rain lashes country

  DUBAI – Torrential downpour swept through Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Sunday (November 10), with the national weather bureau issuing a severe weather warning. Thunderstorms also hit parts of Hatta, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday morning. According to the National Center of Meteorology, rainfall of different intensities will continue to hit parts of the country on Sunday. The NCM forecast more rain, rough seas and strong winds stirring up a sandstorm northern and eastern areas of the country until 8pm on Sunday. The weather bureau issued a high alert in coastal areas. Unsettled weather is forecast to continue in Fujairah, Sharjah and the northern emirates until Monday evening. Travellers in Dubai were warned to expect flight disruptions, with the Dubai Airports announcing it is working to “normalise operations”.
