POLO Dubai shuts down for two days after staff gets Covid-19

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO Dubai) in Dubai closed on Thursday (June 9) after its staff tested positive for Covid-19. In an advisory sent to Expatmedia.net, POLO Dubai said it is temporarily suspending operations for two days until Friday (June 10). According to the agency, it has been “advised to undergo extensive sanitation procedures after its frontliners tested positive for Covid-19.” “The premises will be thoroughly disinfected in those two days to ensure health and safety of clients,” POLO Dubai added.

The agency did not say how many of its staff tested positive for Covid-19, but advised those who recently visited the office for contract verification services to “get tested for Covid-19 as soon as practicable.” Affected clients with online appointment for June 9 or 10 can go to POLO Dubai at any date of their choice beginning June 13. There is no need to secure a new appointment, according to POLO Dubai. Walk-in clients with a confirmed flight schedule for June 10, 11, 12 or 13 can send their authorized representative for contract verification at POLO Dubai starting on June 13. There is no need to secure an online appointment, but the representative must bring the authorization letter, with copy of his or her valid ID, a copy of the OFW’s flight ticket and the complete set of requirements for contract verification.
