Philippines to remove tourist limit, resume visa issuance on April 1

MANILA – The Philippines will resume visa issuance for all vaccinated foreign tourists and remove the tourist arrival quota on April 1, reopening its borders to international tourism. Tourist visas will be issued at Philippine embassies and consulates. "Starting April 1, there will be no limit to the number of international passengers arriving in all ports of entry in the country," according to Department of Tourism. The new policy means the total removal of the arrival quota for unvaccinated passengers and the mandatory PCR test taken within 24 hours of the flight. Currently, arriving tourists need to present a negative RT-PCR test taken at least 48 hours prior to their flight to the Philippines. "This latest development opens the country to all fully vaccinated tourists from all countries and means the country's tourism industry is well on its way to recovery," said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
