Job hirings picking up in UAE
DUBAI – The pace of job hirings in the UAE is approaching a “14-month high", a recent study revealed.
According to Emirates NBD Purchasing Managers' Index for July, some companies are still hiring new employees.
The record is in contrast to the trend over the second quarter, where employment was either stagnant or barely rising.
Recent employment data done by other analysts coincided with the bank's findings where job listings in the UAE went up by 10 percent in June 2016 compared to the same period last year.
Sanjay Modi, managing director for Asia Pacific and Middle East at Monster.com, said they are expecting the positive trend to continue, especially in the UAE.
Businesses in the healthcare sector continue to drive the demand for new employees, with vacancy listings growing by 46 percent in June, according to Monster.com.
The digits may be attributed to the enrollment of employees for a mandatory medical coverage plan.
