Manny Pacquiao to send corrupt to ‘mega’ jail

MANILA – Philippine presidential hopeful Manny Pacquiao said that if elected, he will send corrupt government officials to a “mega” jail. “Subukan lang nila ako ng anim na taon. Makikita nila na 'yung ipapagawa kong mega prison mapupuno 'yun (Let them try me for six years. I will fill the mega prison I will build with the corrupt),” Pacquiao said on Sunday night (April 3). Pacquiao was speaking at the Commission on Elections’ PiliPinas presidential debate at the Sofitel Plaza in Pasay City. All presidential aspirants, except Bongbong Marcos, attended the debate. He added that penalizing corrupt officials would also help bring down corruption levels in the country. “Ang gusto ko 'yung mga nagnanakaw makita sa kulungan kaya dumadami ang magnanakaw dahil walang nakukulong (I want to see thieves jailed. They are growing in numbers because no one is jailed),” Pacquiao said. CAM/Expat Media
