Dh2,000 fine for cars using bus lay-by parking

  Motorists who park their cars at bus lay-by in the UAE will be fined Dh2,000, according to the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre (ITC). A bus lay-by is an area at the side of the road where buses may pull off the road and stop. “Parking in bus lay-by is prohibited as it endangers the safety of road users. Violating this rule will result in a Dhs2,000 fine ticket,” according to ITC. The transport authority issued the remind after incidents of motorists blocking the bus lay-by, resulting in traffic jams as buses get blocked. Motorists driving on dedicated bus lanes, particularly in Dubai, will also attract fines of Dh600. The Roads and Transport Authority has urged motorists to keep it clear for buses. ICA/Expat Media
